Psychological momentum is stronger in FUT

Momentum exists – but not in the shape of a hidden feature used to flip matches upside down. What I’m talking about here is the completely natural phenomenon which occurs when someone seems to have the upper hand and in turn perform increasingly well. What’s more, this effect appears to be strong in FUT compared to real football.

A couple of times a year, the FIFA community is shaken by the revelaion that the game uses adaptive difficulty. As was the case first time it was “revealed”, the latest re-discovery instantly set off speculations about adaptive difficulty possibly being the long sought-after momentum mechanism believed to be present in online multiplayer FUT.
